Accounting Specialist | Service Metal | Maryland Heights, MO Pay: $24.00–$28.00/hour | Full-Time | Business Hours, 8am–5pm | Onsite
Service Metal is hiring an Accounting Specialist to support Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, billing, and vendor payments for a growing, nationwide distribution company. This role is a strong fit for someone early in their accounting career who wants room to grow, cross-train, and take on more responsibility over time.
What You'll Do
- Process customer payments, reconcile accounts, and resolve payment discrepancies
- Prepare and process customer invoices
- Monitor Accounts Receivable aging and support collections
- Process vendor invoices and prepare payment batches (ACH, check runs, electronic payments)
- Reconcile vendor statements and maintain vendor records
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Purchasing to resolve accounting issues
- Support audits, compliance documentation, and recordkeeping
- Cross-train across accounting functions as part of ongoing development
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree a plus
- 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, AP, or AR experience preferred
- Comfortable in Excel and Microsoft Office; ERP/accounting software experience a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Clear communicator who can manage multiple priorities
- Manufacturing, industrial, or distribution experience helpful but not required
