Enterprise Hardware Test Technician (Level I)

OVERVIEW

We're hiring a Level I Hardware Test Technician for our enterprise hardware testing operation in Sanford, FL. This is a full-time, on-site role for

• someone who's genuinely into computer hardware and wants to work with enterprise servers, storage arrays, and drives at real scale — we
• process tens of thousands of enterprise drives every month.
• It's a hybrid role: part warehouse, part technical bench. You'll receive and catalog incoming hardware and run our standardized testing and
• diagnostic procedures on drives and equipment. If you've built your own homelab, flashed an HBA for fun, or live in a Linux terminal on the
• weekend, this is the job that pays you to do more of it — with a clear path to grow into advanced diagnostics work (our Level II role).
• You don't need professional experience. You need a real technical foundation, curiosity, and a willingness to work hands-on in an active warehouse.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Receive, label, and catalog incoming enterprise hardware accurately
• Run standardized diagnostic and testing procedures on HDDs, SSDs, NVMe, and SAS drives
• Load and manage drives across rack-mounted testing servers
• Use Linux command-line tools to run tests and read results
• Interpret SMART data and test output against our grading standards
• Keep clean, detailed records of test results and drive status
• Flag drives and failures that fall outside standard procedure for senior techs
• Keep your work area clean and organized — it matters here

WHAT YOU'LL WORK WITH

• Rack-mounted enterprise storage servers, JBODs, and HBAs
• Enterprise HDDs, SSDs, NVMe, and SAS drives across every major manufacturer
• Linux, command-line tooling, and SMART diagnostics
• Custom testing dashboards and hardware imaging / erasure appliances

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• A genuine technical foundation in computer hardware or IT — self-taught, coursework, or homelab experience all count
• Comfort with Linux and the command line, or real eagerness to get there fast
• Strong attention to detail and good record-keeping habits
• Able to work a physically active warehouse role, including lifting up to 50 lbs
• A homelab or hands-on hardware hobby is highly desirable

Nice to have

• Any hands-on experience with enterprise servers, JBODs, or bulk drives
• Familiarity with SMART attributes or drive diagnostics

SCHEDULE

• Monday–Friday, full-time, on-site in Sanford, FL

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• $20.00–$22.00 per hour
• 401(k) after one year
