Telecom Service Installer
Telecom Service installers are responsible for connecting fiber optic service from the aerial or underground telecom utility location to the inside of a home or business. In addition, installers will troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade existing fiber optic services.
Telecom Service installers maintain regularly scheduled installation appointments and interact with home and business residents. The ideal candidate can work independently and as part of a part of a team. This position is typically the start of the employee's telecommunications career.
This is a regular, full-time, non-exempt position. Normal shifts may include working 8 or more hours and must be available to work overtime including occasional weekends or evenings.
What you will do:
- Perform installation of new service and performs service calls
- Pre-wire single dwelling units and multiple dwelling units (MDUs) to provide ready hook-up capabilities
- Provide materials to educate the customer on the use of the equipment
- Safely climb ladders
- Read and understand engineering plans and construction prints
- Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field
Requirements
- Previous service installation experience or knowledge of VoIP, cable, or data networks in residential and commercial applications required
- Valid driving license and clean driving record
- Background check and pre-employment drug test

Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally going to sit; the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms including above head; turn, pivot, or bend wrists, elbows, shoulders, climb, and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee is regularly lifting up to 75 pounds, individually or as a team.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver’s License with (3) or more proven years of driving experience
