Our Jobs are located in throughout New England. There is heavy travel in this job, with some jobs being overnight. The company provides accommodations and the employee receives a stipend for overnight stays.
Job summary:
As an apprentice technician, you will learn to splice and test fiber optic cables in aerial, underground, and indoor environments. Attention to detail is critical for testing locations, termination points, and general fiber optic network construction. The ideal candidate can work independently and as part of a part of a team.
What you will do:
- Work with technicians splicing fiber optic cables, using splicing equipment
- Learn to read instructions, specifications, and blueprints to determine work activities
- Learn to safely operate bucket trucks and other job site vehicles and trailers
- Learn to complete and maintain excellent records of splice diagrams, patch panels, and test results
Requirements:
- Ideal candidates may have previous education or experience with electronics or telecommunication
- Valid driving license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel in the New England region including overnight stays
- Background check and pre-employment drug test

- Telecom Splicer is a field position with extensive travel in the New England region including overnight stays.

Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally going to sit; the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms including above head; turn, pivot, or bend wrists, elbows, shoulders, climb, and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee is regularly lifting up to 75 pounds, individually or as a team.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver’s License with (3) or more proven years of driving experience
