What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy Assistant position at Serenity Transitional Care?
Full-time Opportunity
Assists the PT in the assessment and evaluation of patient care needs related to functional status/mobility, endurance/stamina, pain, and other medical conditions. Based on this assessment and evaluation, the Physical Therapist and assistant will work to help determine a treatment plan, perform interventions aimed at improving and enhancing the patient’s well-being, and evaluate the patient’s progress.
Job Duties
- Observe patients before, during, and after therapy, noting the patient’s status and reporting it to a physical therapist.
- Help patients do specific exercises as part of the plan of care.
- Treat patients using a variety of techniques, such as massage and stretching.
- Use devices and equipment, such as walkers, to help patients.
- Educate patients and family members about what to do after treatment.
- Clean treatment areas and set up therapy equipment.
- Wash linens.
- Help patients move to or from a therapy area.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Associates Degree from a Certified Physical Therapy Assistants program
· Current Idaho State License.
· Effective communication skills for accurate, concise, and organized verbal and written interactions with patients and co-workers
· Understanding of clinical documentation requirements utilizing electronic health records for Medicare and other payors in accordance with guidelines established by Medicare, Medicaid, other payors and the APTA
· Solid interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships with physicians, therapists, and patients.
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
