Resident Assistant / Responsible Person
Location: Middleboro, MA (Serenity Rest Home)
Compensation: $17–$20/hr All shifts Day shift/Night shift/Full-time or Part-time (every other weekend)
Serenity Rest Home is a warm, family-run, 24-bed Level IV rest home in Middleboro. We are small on purpose—staff know every resident by name, and residents feel right at home. In alignment with rest home standards, our residents are largely independent with activities of daily living, and we seek a dedicated Resident Assistant to support their independence, safety, and daily well-being.
What You Will Do
- Support Daily Routines: Provide gentle reminders, cueing, and non-intrusive support for residents managing their daily care, plus mobility or ADL assistance when needed.
- Responsible Person on Duty: Serve as the designated person in charge on your shift, monitoring resident safety, tracking whereabouts, and maintaining shift logs.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications strictly following facility protocols and state training standards, documenting every dose accurately.
- Observe & Report: Monitor vital signs, write shift notes, and immediately report any health or behavioral changes to the nurse or administrator.
- Engage Residents: Lead or participate in social activities, recreational programs, and conversations to foster a vibrant, clean, safe community atmosphere.
What You Need
- At least 21 years of age with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English for proper record-keeping.
- Prior experience as a HHA, PCA, or caregiver is a plus (we gladly train compassionate applicants with a heart for senior care).
- CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
- Reliability, patience, and a warm, professional demeanor.
