Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving and a genuine passion for helping others, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or Alzheimer’s care needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs and observing changes in health status.
- Support clients with meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals tailored to their dietary needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and ensuring hygiene standards are met.
- Assist clients in mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
- Administer medication as prescribed while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client’s quality of life.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home health care, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or Alzheimer’s care is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client assistance.
- Understanding of care plans and medication administration processes.
