Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in various care settings. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, documenting findings accurately
- Support medication administration following prescribed care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed
- Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and facilitate safe patient transfers using proper manual handling techniques
- Maintain cleanliness of client living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering positive communication and respecting residents’ rights
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and hospice care practices
- Familiarity with patient observation, monitoring vital signs, and implementing care plans
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are advantageous
- Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or intellectual disabilities support is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks; physical stamina is essential
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members
