About the Role
Our Medication Technicians play a critical role in resident wellness. You will safely assist with medication management, support daily care needs, and ensure residents receive the highest quality of service in accordance with California RCFE regulations. This is an ideal position for someone who is detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and committed to exceptional care.
What You’ll Do
Medication Administration
- Assist residents with self-administration of medications in compliance with Title 22 RCFE regulations and facility policies.
- Ensure accurate documentation in medication records, including MARs and communication logs.
- Maintain medication carts, supplies, and storage areas in clean, organized, and compliant condition.
- Notify wellness leadership of any medication concerns, errors, refusals, or changes in resident condition.
Resident Care & Support
- Provide hands-on caregiving assistance such as ADLs, mobility, hygiene, and safety checks as needed.
- Observe, document, and report changes in resident health or behavior promptly.
- Respond to resident requests courteously and efficiently, fostering a warm and supportive environment.
- Support new resident admissions, move-ins, and wellness routines.
Teamwork & Compliance
- Work collaboratively with caregivers, nurses, dietary staff, and leadership to ensure smooth care operations.
- Follow all infection control, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold all RCFE standards.
- Participate in required trainings, in-services, and ongoing education.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of caregiving experience in assisted living, healthcare, or another medical setting (required).
- Prior experience as a Medication Technician or similar role is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of medication management, ADLs, and resident care practices.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, compassionate communication style with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents as needed; must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Knowledge of California RCFE regulations is a plus; willingness to learn is essential.
