About the Role
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the community, including resident rooms, common areas, and designated facility spaces. This role ensures our residents live in a sanitary, organized, and pleasant environment while upholding all RCFE infection control and safety standards.
What You’ll Do
Resident Room & Apartment Cleaning
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, and living areas according to established schedules.
- Change linens, make beds, and restock toiletries as needed.
- Handle resident belongings with care and maintain respect for personal space.
Common Area & Facility Cleaning
- Clean hallways, dining rooms, lounges, offices, and activity spaces.
- Dust, vacuum, sweep, and mop floors to maintain a polished appearance.
- Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in housekeeping storage areas.
Laundry & Support Duties
- Complete resident personal laundry and facility laundry following proper sorting, washing, drying, and folding procedures.
- Report any needed repairs, safety concerns, or maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with cleaning during special events or high-traffic times as needed.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all infection control guidelines, including universal precautions and sanitation standards.
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely and adhere to all facility safety protocols.
- Maintain a professional appearance and interact with residents in a warm, courteous manner.
- Protect resident privacy and confidentiality at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- Prior housekeeping experience in assisted living, healthcare, hospitality, or residential settings preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent time-management skills and reliability—residents and staff depend on you.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, lifting, and carrying loads of laundry or supplies.
- Positive attitude and comfort interacting respectfully with seniors.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
