About the Role
The Dietary Aide/Server supports both the dining room and kitchen to ensure residents receive safe, nutritious meals in a warm, welcoming environment. You will serve meals, maintain sanitation standards, assist with basic food prep, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the dietary department. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where attention to detail and a positive attitude are non-negotiable.
What You’ll Do
Dining Room Service
- Serve meals and beverages promptly, accurately, and professionally according to resident diet orders.
- Create a warm dining experience by engaging respectfully with residents and responding to their needs.
- Bus, clean, and reset tables throughout meal service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, restaurant-style dining environment.
- Communicate resident feedback or concerns to the Dietary Manager.
Kitchen Support & Cleaning
- Assist with light food prep and meal assembly as directed.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, and utensils to meet safety standards.
- Deliver and retrieve meal trays from Memory Care promptly.
- Keep all kitchen areas—including floors, walls, sinks, equipment, fridge, freezer, and pantry—clean, organized, and compliant.
- Break down boxes, remove trash, and maintain safe storage (no food on the floor).
- Support the team with additional duties to keep operations running smoothly.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and follow uniform standards.
- Demonstrate teamwork, reliability, and a consistently positive attitude.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or food service strongly preferred.
- Understanding of basic food prep, serving techniques, sanitation, and food safety.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to work efficiently during busy meal periods.
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to customer service.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate loads, and perform cleaning duties.
- Familiarity with dietary guidelines is a plus but not required.
