Material Coordinator (VA Service Distribution Center)

Location: Service Distribution Center, Hines, IL

Job Summary:

 The Material Coordinator at the Service Distribution Center in Hines, IL, will execute the efficient flow of materials, ensuring timely receipt, storage, and distribution in alignment with contract requirements. This role involves completing logistical operations, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring compliance with government standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials within the Service Distribution Center.
• Coordinate the movement of materials between departments to meet production schedules and shipping deadlines.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using manual and computerized systems, ensuring real-time updates.
• Requisition materials and establish delivery sequences based on job order priorities and material availability.
• Operate material handling equipment (MHE) such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and mobile scanners to support warehouse operations.
• Compile and analyze reports on stock levels, material discrepancies, and production records.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to address logistical challenges and optimize workflows.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality control measures in all material handling activities.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications in logistics or material handling preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in material coordination, inventory management, or warehouse operations.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and tools.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment (MHE) safely and efficiently.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in a government or military logistics environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.

Work Environment:

 The role is based at the SDC facility in Hines, Illinois. Individuals must be comfortable working in warehouse settings and must be available for flexible shift coverage.
