Title of Position: Tutor
Job Type: Part-Time
Compensation: $28.00 per hour
Location: International High School for Health Sciences, 48-01 90th Street, Elmhurst, NY 11373
Duration: Part-time, temporary position from October 2025 to June 2026 (5 hours per week). Note that the program will not operate during school closures (Winter Break, Spring Break, etc.), and staff are not expected to work during these breaks.

In collaboration with the Department of Education and 21st Century Grants, Queens Community House will provide School Day and After School services at International High School for Health Sciences. We are looking for two dedicated Tutors to support students’ academic progress and grade promotion goals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist students with English language acquisition and comprehension.
- Support students in understanding and mastering content across various school subjects.
- Provide targeted preparation for English and Math Regents exams.
- Maintain accurate attendance records.
- Collaborate with the Community School Director to address any concerns and challenges encountered while working with students.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of tutoring experience, with a focus on English Language Learners preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Contingent on obtaining DOE PETS clearance.
- High School Diploma required; at least one year of experience or education in a related field preferred.
Prospective employees are required to obtain the necessary clearances from the NYC DOE and QCH before working with youth.
