Position Overview
Queens Community House is seeking a Health Monitor to join our Queens Childcare Network (QCCN) team. This role supports home-based childcare providers across Queens by conducting monthly health, safety, and nutrition monitoring visits.
The Health Monitor ensures compliance with NYC and New York State regulations while providing coaching, guidance, and corrective support aligned with early childhood standards and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This position plays a critical role in promoting safe, healthy, and high-quality childcare environments for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly health, safety, and nutrition monitoring visits to home-based childcare providers
- Assess compliance with NYC/NY State childcare regulations and CACFP standards
- Document visit findings accurately and maintain detailed, up-to-date records
- Provide coaching, guidance, and corrective action support to providers
- Monitor and report any health or safety concerns in a timely manner
- Support providers in implementing best practices in health, safety, and nutrition
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent quality and compliance
- Ensure adherence to all organizational, city, and state regulations
- Bilingual English/Spanish (fluent in reading, writing, and speaking) – required
Education / Credentials
- CDA, Associate’s degree, or higher in Child Development, Human Services, Public Health, or a related field
Experience
- Prior experience in childcare, early childhood, health & safety, or nutrition
- Experience with family or group family childcare providers preferred
- Familiarity with CACFP and childcare regulations preferred

Compliance Requirements
- NYC DOE PETS Clearance (required or ability to obtain)
