About Queens Community House

Queens Community House (QCH) is a multi-site nonprofit organization serving children, youth, adults, families, and older adults throughout Queens. We provide individuals and families with the tools to enrich their lives and build healthy, inclusive communities.

QCH is committed to strengthening communities, advancing opportunity, and creating meaningful pathways for individuals and families to thrive.

Position Summary

Queens Community House is seeking a dynamic and experienced Multi-Site Director with a strong commitment to youth and community development to provide leadership and oversight across our Beacon programs.

Beacon programs are school-based community centers that serve children ages six and older, families, adults, schools, and the broader community. These programs are designed to develop the strengths and skills of young people while serving as community hubs that connect residents and families to a broad range of programs, services, and opportunities.

The Multi-Site Director will focus on three primary areas of responsibility:

  1. High-quality supervision and leadership
  2. Collaboration, relationship building, and advocacy with key stakeholders
  3. Effective communication, timely reporting, contractual compliance, regulatory compliance, and documentation

The ideal candidate is a strong people leader, strategic thinker, relationship builder, and problem solver who understands youth development and thrives in a multi-site environment. The Multi-Site Director will play a critical role in staff development, program quality improvement, data-informed decision-making, resource management, and implementation of Youth Services' strategic priorities.

This position requires a leader who can balance visionary leadership with strong operational execution, build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and empower Program Directors to achieve strong outcomes for youth, families, and communities.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Staff Development

  • Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and performance management to Program Directors and other designated program staff.
  • Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain high-performing program teams.
  • Establish clear expectations and promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to strengthen staff leadership and program effectiveness.
  • Ensure staff practices align with QCH's Mission, Vision, organizational values, and Youth Services' youth development best practices.

Program Operations & Quality

  • Provide oversight and leadership to a cohort of Beacon Community Center programs.
  • Ensure effective day-to-day program operations, including attendance, staffing, incident management, documentation, reporting, evaluation, and assessment.
  • Monitor program performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Use program data and performance indicators to inform decisions, establish priorities, and strengthen outcomes.
  • Ensure programs consistently meet or exceed contractual, regulatory, funder, and agency standards.
  • Support Program Directors in developing engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate programming.
  • Conduct regular site visits and program reviews to assess program quality and operational effectiveness.

Strategic Planning & Collaboration

  • Partner with other Multi-Site Directors to ensure consistency and alignment across Youth Services programs.
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement Youth Services strategic priorities and organizational initiatives.
  • Translate organizational goals into actionable plans for program teams.
  • Identify challenges, develop solutions, and implement strategies that maximize available resources and strengthen program performance.
  • Participate in leadership meetings, planning sessions, and agency-wide initiatives as assigned.

Stakeholder & Community Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including school principals, parents and caregivers, contractors, community partners, funders, and other external partners.
  • Represent QCH professionally in meetings, school settings, community events, and other external forums.
  • Advocate for the needs of youth, families, programs, and staff.
  • Resolve conflicts and negotiate solutions effectively and professionally.
  • Foster strong partnerships between QCH, schools, families, and community stakeholders.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Collaborate with Program Directors to establish spending priorities aligned with program goals and organizational strategic priorities.
  • Monitor assigned program budgets and expenditures.
  • Ensure resources are used responsibly, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize program resources while maintaining program quality and compliance.

Other Responsibilities

  • Meet regularly with Program Directors to support program planning, staff development, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Respond to emerging operational and programmatic needs.
  • Participate in special projects and agency-wide initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
