Position Summary
Queens Community House is seeking a Senior Development Associate to join its growing Development team. Reporting to the Director of Development, this role supports fundraising operations, donor engagement, campaign execution, and events management to help sustain and expand QCH’s impact.
The Senior Development Associate is a hands-on, operations-focused role ideal for a development professional ready to step into greater ownership and influence. Partnering closely with the Director of Development, this position ensures that fundraising systems, campaigns, donor communications, and events run smoothly and effectively. This role offers meaningful responsibility within a collaborative, mission-driven nonprofit serving diverse communities across Queens.
Key Responsibilities
Development Operations and Systems
- Manage all aspects of QCH’s donor database (Salesforce), including gift processing, data integrity, reporting, and system optimization
- Serve as the primary point person for development data accuracy, coding standards, and reporting consistency
- Produce regular fundraising and donor analytics reports to track giving trends, campaign performance, and prospect activity
- Support system improvements and operational efficiencies across the Development department
Fundraising Campaign and Project Management
- Manage key components of fundraising campaigns, including timelines, coordination of materials, and internal deadlines
- Maintain and oversee the fundraising calendar to align campaigns, events, appeals, and donor outreach efforts
- Ensure campaign execution remains on schedule and aligned with departmental priorities
Events Management
- Lead the planning and logistical execution of 3–4 annual fundraising events
- Coordinate vendors, manage guest lists and registration processes, develop run-of-show timelines, and oversee on-site execution
- Collaborate with internal staff and external partners to deliver professional, mission-aligned events
Donor Engagement and Communications
- Draft and coordinate donor communications, including acknowledgment letters, fundraising appeals, impact updates, and stewardship materials
- Support donor engagement and moves management efforts, including scheduling meetings and tracking follow-ups
- Conduct prospect research and support the development of a qualified donor pipeline
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, development operations, or nonprofit development
- Strong writing and communication skills with experience creating donor-facing materials
- Experience with a donor database or CRM system (Salesforce preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions-focused
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
