Our caregivers, who are seniors themselves, make life a little easier by providing compassionate care in the comfort of our care receiver’s home.
SHS empowers seniors to continue living independently by caring for day-to-day tasks that become more challenging as seniors age.
This posting is for the Bondurant & Altoona area; however, availability in all of the Des Moines area is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Enjoy working with our senior population
- Be a caring, empathetic, compassionate and reliable individual
- Understand the importance of our services to our seniors
- Have a positive attitude and be dedicated to our SHS mission
- High level of emotional intelligence
- Ability to follow detailed instructions to execute our care plan
- Maturity to deal effectively with the demands of the job
- Maintain the highest standards of customer service and professionalism set by SHS
- Be proactive to find other ways to help our seniors once all tasks have been completed
Companionship and Homemaker Duties may include:
- Provide Companionship
- Assist with Light Housekeeping such as laundry, vacuuming, washing dishes, etc…
- Shopping and Errands
- Meal Preparation
- Medication Reminders
- Pet Care
- Light Yard Work
- Light Handyman Services
- Overnight Supervision
- Incidental Transportation to doctor’s appointments, family, or their favorite restaurant
Personal Care Duties may include:
- Assist with Dressing
- Assist with Feeding
- Assist with Showering / Bathing
- Mobility Assistance
- Assist with Toileting / Incontinence
- Memory Care
Other Responsibilities:
- Arrive on Time for all Services
- Maintain documentation of all services provided
- Record and report changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior, or appearance to our office staff
- Communicate regularly and proactively with our office staff
- Participate in relevant in-service opportunities and other informational meeting when possible
- Clock in and out using our care management system
