This role works directly with the Food & Beverage Director and helps lead the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and dining rooms. We are looking for someone who notices the details, takes ownership, develops their team, and understands that a Top in Class dining experience must be both exceptional and accurate.

What You’ll Do
- Help lead daily kitchen and dining operations to provide a consistently high-quality resident experience.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served promptly, professionally, and according to Senior Star presentation standards.
- Manage resident-specific dietary needs and preferences, including therapeutic diets, texture-modified diets, thickened liquids, food allergies, dietary restrictions, and dysphagia-related precautions.
- Partner closely with the Food & Beverage Director, consulting dietitian, and nursing/clinical teams regarding resident needs and diet changes.
- Maintain accurate dietary records and ensure meals are served according to diet orders.
- Support menu planning, food and supply inventory, meal costs, and department budget expectations.
- Train, coach, and support associates in delivering an exceptional dining experience.
- Maintain Top in Class standards for food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, storage, and regulatory compliance.
- Be visible in the dining rooms, connect with residents, listen to feedback, and address concerns.
- Support special events and partner with other departments to create memorable resident experiences.

What We’re Looking For
- Knowledge of food preparation, service, portion control, sanitation, and proper food storage.
- Knowledge of physician-ordered diets and/or the ability to work with a consulting dietitian to prepare them.
- Understanding of food costs, budgets, purchasing, receiving, and inventory.
- Ability to lead, direct, and work alongside others.
- Strong organization, communication, and follow-through.
- A professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
- Someone who is comfortable interacting directly with residents and families.
- A genuine desire to improve the lives of seniors and embrace the Senior Star mission and culture.
