Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Asst. Kitchen Supervisor to lead our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and exceptional food service. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing food production, ensuring food safety standards, and supervising staff to create a positive, efficient environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for serving our senior community.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure timely delivery of meals.
- Lead and manage kitchen staff, providing training, guidance, and support to foster teamwork and high performance.
- Oversee inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining proper storage practices to minimize waste and control costs.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and sanitation standards to guarantee the health and safety of residents and staff.
- Manage shift schedules, monitor productivity, and handle operational issues promptly to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
- Support catering events and special functions with efficient food production and service.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment.
- Extensive culinary skills with knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu planning.
- Experience with banquet service, catering, or fine dining is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent team management skills.
- Knowledge of inventory management, food safety protocols, and dietary requirements for seniors.
- Familiarity with restaurant or hospitality management practices including shift management and food handling procedures.
