Position Description:
Join a dedicated fire life and safety team as a Fire Protection / Sprinkler Technician, performing essential inspection, testing, repair, and service of fire protection systems including alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, and emergency lighting. This role involves adhering to NFPA standards (NFPA 25 2023, NFPA 20 2022, NFPA 72 2022, NFPA 291 2022), with opportunities to support ongoing training and development. You will work collaboratively within a larger Facility Maintenance team at a prominent client site in Golden, CO, ensuring safety and compliance through thorough inspections, timely reporting, and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and test fire safety systems in accordance with preventive maintenance schedules
- Write detailed inspection and service reports, identifying deficiencies or necessary corrections
- Support maintenance and light repairs on fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, deluge, pre-action)
- Learn and operate fire protection control systems to provide responsive service calls
- Complete all work orders and documentation accurately and on time
- Engage professionally with customers, providing clear communication and follow-up
- Participate in after-hours emergency call rotations
- Perform other duties as assigned, supporting team and client needs
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; vocational or trade school background preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, deluge, pre-action)
- NICET Level II Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems certification
- Backflow Test and Repair Certification
- Strong understanding of NFPA standards (NFPA 25 2023, NFPA 20, NFPA 72, NFPA 291)
- Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs regularly and perform mechanical tasks
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Effective communication skills for interaction with team, management, and clients
- Ability to read technical documents, safety rules, and operate maintenance procedures effectively
