Position Description:
Join a dedicated team providing high-quality early childhood education in Richmond, VA. As a Child Care Teacher, you'll utilize the Reggio Emilia approach to foster a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for children aged six weeks to six years. Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and implement creative and developmentally appropriate lesson plans for diverse age groups.
- Document children's daily progress, activities, and prepare detailed reports for parents.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free classroom environment in accordance with licensing and accreditation standards.
- Supervise and support teacher aides and volunteers, promoting teamwork and high-quality care.
- Foster self-esteem, autonomy, and social-emotional development through positive interactions and supportive learning experiences.
- Promote gross and fine motor skills, language development, and independence through engaging activities.
- Ensure health and safety protocols are followed, including infection control and environmental safety.
- Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and team collaborations to enhance program quality.
- Communicate effectively with families to ensure smooth transitions and ongoing engagement.
- Adhere to all regulatory and licensing requirements, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM (7.5-hour shifts within these hours)
Work Site: 1200 E Broad St, Richmond, VA 23219
Compensation: $38,000 - $48,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications

Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of formal experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 6 years.
- An associate degree in early childhood education, child psychology, or related field, or related coursework (minimum 40 hours).
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments; strong reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, observational, and documentation abilities.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
Top Requirements:
- Lead teacher experience required for 3 openings.
- Experience working with children across multiple age groups (6 weeks to 6 years).
- Prepared to complete documentation, including last 4 digits of SS#, date of birth, and a personalized cover letter for application submission.
Preferred Skills & Education:
- Experience specifically with infants (6 weeks to 2 years old).
- Familiarity with Reggio Emilia educational philosophy.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) certification.
