The Senior Network Architect is a key leadership role responsible for the design, implementation, and advanced support of the organization’s mission-critical global network infrastructure. This position requires deep, hands-on expertise with Juniper and Palo Alto Networks technologies, specializing in complex service provider and large enterprise network environments.
- Must: At least 3 years of experience serving in a Network Architect role.
- Architect, plan, and deploy highly available, scalable, and secure WAN, LAN, and Data Center networks using Juniper technologies (e.g., MX Routers, EX/QFX Switches, SRX Firewalls) and Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs).
- Develop and maintain the MPLS core network architecture, including L2/L3 VPNs, Traffic Engineering (TE), and Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) / Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP-TE).
- Design and implement complex BGP routing policies for multi-homed internet connectivity, inter-AS communication, and global route optimization.
- Lead the network components of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals, security standards, and industry best practices.
- Design, implement, and fine-tune Quality of Service (QoS) policies (e.g., queuing, policing, shaping, classification) to ensure optimal performance for mission-critical services.
- Ensure reliable delivery and transport of VoIP services, including configuration and management of related infrastructure such as Session Border Controllers and gateways.
- Architect, plan, and support network infrastructure for IP Video Surveillance (IPVS) systems, including camera-to-VMS communication and storage networking.
- Conduct network capacity planning and traffic analysis to forecast bandwidth requirements for high-resolution IP camera streams (e.g., H.264/H.265).
- Design and manage secure VLAN segmentation and network zoning strategies, including PoE/PoE power budgeting.
- Configure and manage advanced security features on Juniper SRX and Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including Security Policies, NAT, VPNs, User-ID, Application-ID, and Panorama.
- Enforce network security controls, including 802.1X authentication for endpoint access where required.
- Provide Tier 3/4 escalation support for complex incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and thorough root cause analysis.
- Utilize network monitoring and packet capture tools (e.g., Wireshark) to diagnose and resolve high-level network, voice, and video performance issues.
- 10 years of progressive experience in network engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience serving in a Network Architect role.
- 10 years of deep, hands-on experience with Juniper Junos OS across MX Series routers, EX/QFX Series switches, and SRX firewalls.
- 8 years of expert-level experience with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), including path manipulation, route filtering, and peering.
- 8 years of experience designing and operating Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks, including LDP, RSVP-TE, and L2/L3 VPNs.
- 8 years of proven expertise with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including Panorama management, App-ID, Content-ID, and WildFire integration.
- 6 years of strong, verifiable experience designing and troubleshooting networks supporting high-volume, real-time traffic environments.
- 6 years of experience implementing and optimizing Quality of Service (QoS) for VoIP and IP Video Surveillance traffic.
- 6 years of experience designing secure VLAN segmentation and enforcing enterprise-grade network security policies.
- 5 years of experience performing network capacity planning and bandwidth forecasting for high-throughput environments.
- 5 years of experience providing Tier 3/4 escalation support and performing root cause analysis for complex network issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5 years of experience supporting large-scale global enterprise or service provider environments.
- 5 years of experience architecting network infrastructure specifically for IP Video Surveillance (IPVS) systems.
- 5 years of experience implementing 802.1X authentication in complex enterprise environments.
- 3 years of experience integrating Session Border Controllers and advanced VoIP infrastructure.
- Industry certifications such as JNCIP/JNCIE, PCNSE, or equivalent advanced networking certifications.
