What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hydraulic Engineer position at Seminole Tribe of Florida?
The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise and leadership in the hydraulic system modeling, planning, design, permitting, construction, and advanced system monitoring of water and wastewater distribution and collection systems. The incumbent applies general knowledge of basic engineering theories, principles, and methods while performing complex engineering work with a high level of independence, ensuring that projects comply with federal, state, and tribal regulations. The individual provides strategic guidance on master planning, capital improvement projects, and long-term infrastructure development.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline is required. A minimum of four (4) years of experience working as an Engineer in water/wastewater/stormwater with hydraulic modeling focus is required. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and ESRI (GIS) software packages is beneficial. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Aquanuity and / or WaterGEMS as well as Microsoft software packages, particularly Excel. Ability to travel to all reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays, and be willing to respond during the event of an emergency.
