APH Marine Construction is looking for a motivated, mechanically inclined, ownership-minded individual to help operate
and grow our hydraulic dredge division. This is not a typical excavator operator position. This operator will become part
of a specialized marine construction division performing hydraulic dredging, marina excavation, sediment removal, slip
deepening, spoil pumping, rock grinding, and waterfront excavation projects throughout South Florida. We are looking
for someone who wants more than just a seat in a cab. We want someone who wants to take ownership of a division,
learn a specialized trade, solve problems, and help build something unique.
What You'll Be Doing
• Operating an excavator-based hydraulic dredge
• Reading depths, grades, and hydrographic surveys
• Managing dredge production and pump flow
• Preventing and clearing pipe clogs
• Connecting and moving floating pipe systems and dredge hose
• Operating and maneuvering push boats
• Assisting with dredge setup, maintenance, and breakdowns
• Monitoring dredge performance and communicating with upland crew
• Maintaining pumps, wear doors, impellers, hoses, hydraulic systems, and the John Deere HPU
• Working in and around the water daily
• Keeping equipment clean, serviced, and operational at all times
Ideal Candidate
• Strong excavator operating experience
• Comfortable on and around the water
• Mechanically capable and able to troubleshoot equipment
• Comfortable working with a small crew independently
• Willing to get wet and work through difficult conditions when necessary
• Understands production, communication, and responsibility
• Takes pride in equipment and jobsite organization
• Marine construction or dredging experience is a major plus
• CDL is a plus but not required
This Is NOT a 'Seat Only' Operator Position
• Help assemble and move pipe
• Maintain the dredge
• Troubleshoot problems
• Communicate with hauling and upland crews
• Work around pumps and hydraulic systems
• Work blind and underwater
• Help keep production moving
