Promotes, coordinates, and enhances programs, secures philanthropic support, and strengthens relationships with donors, board members, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends of the College.
Essential Functions
The College anticipates that the position incumbent must be available throughout the workday and, on some occasions, after regular work hours. Therefore, as a condition of employment, the incumbent is expected to carry a personal cell phone and is required to provide their current cell phone number to the Office of Human Resources and to their immediate supervisor.
This position is not eligible for Veteran’s Preference.

Essential Functions
- Secures major gifts in collaboration with division leadership.
- Assists leadership to support the Foundation Board of Directors Development Committee and Events Committee.
- Identifies funding priorities, funding sources, innovative fundraising methods, and new relationships, such as prospective donors.
- Develops strategic funding priorities and implement broad-based funding campaigns in collaboration with College faculty and staff.
- Develops opportunities for external partners to become more involved with and knowledgeable about the College community.
- Supervises staff, including coaching, mentoring, training, development, and performance evaluation.
- Oversees and provides direction for the Seminole State Alumni Association, including recruitment, management, and stewardship of the Alumni Leadership Team, associated committees, related website, and communication strategies.
- Leads stewardship efforts of current sponsors and secures sponsorships for Foundation events, such as Dream Gala, Dream Cup, Alumni Legacy Awards, and Celebration of Giving.
- Develops, plans, budgets, and executes fundraising programs, including leadership giving through the Presidents’ Club and other Foundation events.
- Directs the planning, execution, communication, and evaluation of special events.
- Collaborates with Foundation staff and the College’s Marketing and Strategic Communications team in the development, oversight, and preparation of fundraising communications and events.
- Plans, administers, and analyzes assigned budget(s) by compiling reports to measure progress in developing and expanding fundraising efforts.
- Manages and maintains databases of prospects and alumni.
- Represents the Foundation and College at community events.
- Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
- Four years of experience in higher education, alumni relations, or fundraising.
- Three years of experience with email and fundraising software applications such as Donor Perfect, ConstantContact, and Salesforce.
- Master’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in nonprofit management or fundraising.
- Five years of experience in the Florida State College System in alumni relations, fundraising or related area.
- Knowledge of specialized methods of fundraising.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including telephone and public relations skills.
- Demonstrates a professional, courteous demeanor.
- Ability to treat confidential information and situations with sensitivity and discretion.
- Strong presentation, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to successfully develop and manage internal and external relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and motivate others to achieve objectives.
- Ability to create new and innovative solutions, working independently or within a team environment.
- Working knowledge of Mac and PC Operating Systems, with excellent Microsoft Office skills including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, and email and fundraising software applications such as Constant Contact, Salesforce, and Donor Perfect.
- Strong facilitation, coordination, planning, and organizational skills.
