Provides functional expertise and technical support for Advising and Counseling in the Student Administration section of the College’s PeopleSoft system.

Provides functional expertise and technical support for Advising and Counseling in the Student Administration section of the College’s PeopleSoft system.
Essential Functions
- Develops, coordinates, trains and supervises Academic Advisors and Student Success Specialists. Collaborates on ensuring consistency of academic advising on all campuses.
- Researches, analyzes, resolves and tests complex system problems as they arise, using independent judgment and discretion. Applies knowledge of College and Student Administration system processes to create solutions to routine and non-routine system errors as they occur.
- Provides functional support of required reports and queries for the Student Administration modules for Advising and Counseling Department.
- Coordinates system testing and integration strategies for PS SA setup changes, customizations, and component developments with Director
- Assists in the development of the Strategic Plan and annual goals for the Academic Advising and Counseling department. Prepares interim and annual planning reports as needed.
- Provides academic advisement services to students, assisting them in planning their educational goals, reviewing the programs of study and their respective requirements, selecting appropriate course work and reviewing graduation requirements.
- Assists in evaluating and enhancing student performance and retention college-wide and makes recommendations for improvement, working collaboratively with advisors and other College personnel. Implements creative processes that assist students with completion/attainment of their educational goals.
- Implements college-wide training and awareness programs. Partners with faculty institute, Human Resources, and college personnel in supporting student achievement.
- Assists in updating department manual, preparing and monitoring the department budget, and other areas of support as required.
- Manages the routine maintenance and evolution of Academic Advising initiatives, including, but not limited to: Assigned Advisors, website presence, and all modalities of social media and communications
- Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
- Master's Degree in business, sociology, psychology, counseling or related field from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in counseling and/or advising at the post-secondary level.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with student information systems in a post-secondary environment.
- Progressively responsible experience in higher educational administration strongly desired.
- Minimum one year experience in implementation and development of PeopleSoft Student Administration Applications.
- Knowledge of information systems design and analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a professional manner.
- Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.
