We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Control Specialist to support our growing operations here at SEMCORP. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating international logistics, ensuring timely material availability, and maintaining accurate inventory levels to support uninterrupted production. The ideal candidate has strong experience in import/export processes, shipment tracking, inventory management, and cross-functional communication within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage import/export documents and support customs clearance activities.
- Track ocean, air, and domestic shipments; monitor ETD/ETA, delivery appointments, and exceptions.
- Ensure timely arrival of critical materials to prevent production delays.
- Update in-transit inventory and arrival schedules; coordinate receiving, inspection, and put-away.
- Monitor inventory levels and warehouse capacity; support cycle counts and discrepancy resolution.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to optimize slotting, space planning, and FIFO/FEFO execution.
- Prepare logistics tracking reports, ETA forecasts, and inventory KPIs.
- Communicate proactively with suppliers, freight forwarders, brokers, and internal teams.
- Support process improvements and contribute to SOP development.
Qualifications:
- Experience in material control, logistics, supply chain, or inventory management (manufacturing preferred).
- Fmiliarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Understanding of HTS codes, Incoterms, and customs requirements.
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables); Power BI is a plus.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
