What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sheet Metal Fabricator/ Maintenance Mechanic position at Semblex?
Objective: Repair and maintain all plant equipment, keeping machines in good working order so that production is not delayed.
Duties:
- Fabricate and weld sheet metal components according to blueprints, specifications, and work orders. In cases where documentation is unavailable, the employee must be able to fabricate components freehand using experience and judgment
- Maintain and repair equipment as necessary, either as instructed or per work orders
- Make or rebuild replacement parts, jigs, fixtures, and other tools to support equipment functionality
- Operate and maintain all maintenance and repair equipment to ensure proper function and safety
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks and document activities as required.
- Support inventory control processes to ensure inventory accuracy and availability of parts
- Apply 5S principles to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to identify and resolve fabrication and equipment issues
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: H.S. Diploma or equivalent experience.
Experience: 5 years of progressive maintenance experience in manufacturing
environment. 5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication and welding
Skills: Must be able to read blueprints, have knowledge of proper use of hand tools, lifting devices, equipment assembly and disassembly techniques, and have some understanding of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and safety systems work.
