Sellenriek Construction is hiring an experienced Equipment Transporter / Heavy Haul Driver to safely load, secure, transport, and deliver heavy equipment to job sites, yards, and company locations.
This role is ideal for a well-rounded Class A CDL driver with heavy haul experience, strong load securement knowledge, and the ability to work with lowboy, RGN, and flip-tail trailers. This is not just a driving position — we need someone who understands equipment, permits, routes, axle weights, and can assist around the shop when transport work is light.
What You’ll Do
- Transport heavy equipment, machinery, and materials between job sites, yards, and company locations.
- Load, unload, chain, bind, and secure equipment properly.
- Operate lowboy, RGN, flip-tail, and other heavy haul trailers.
- Haul standard and over-dimensional loads as needed.
- Read and follow permits, approved routes, axle weights, road restrictions, and state hauling requirements.
- Complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain accurate logs, paperwork, permits, and DOT documentation.
- Communicate with field crews, shop personnel, dispatch, and supervisors regarding equipment moves and job site needs.
- Assist around the shop when hauling work is light or when there is not a full week of transport work.
Schedule / Travel
- Schedule may vary depending on workload and project needs.
- Some weeks may include overnight travel, including being out multiple nights.
- Other weeks may include local equipment moves and shop support.
- Must be flexible and willing to help where needed.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL required.
- Heavy haul experience required.
- Experience hauling heavy equipment or machinery required.
- Experience with lowboy, RGN, and/or flip-tail trailers strongly preferred.
- Experience with oversized / over-dimensional loads preferred.
- Strong understanding of load securement, chains, binders, and safe loading/unloading practices.
- Ability to read and follow permits, routes, axle weights, and state hauling requirements.
- Mechanical background or shop experience strongly preferred.
- Must be able to pass DOT physical, drug/alcohol testing, background check, and motor vehicle record review.
