As an HPC Storage Engineer, you will be part of a specialized team responsible for managing and scaling a multi-petabyte storage platform that underpins mission-critical compute environments. This role involves hands-on engineering, automation, and collaboration across internal teams and external partners to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of storage systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain large-scale storage systems optimized for high-performance computing workloads
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code practices to automate and standardize storage provisioning and management
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to troubleshoot and optimize workflows for storage efficiency
- Act as a technical lead on storage-related initiatives, contributing expertise across file, block, and object storage technologies
- Interface with external vendors and partners to evaluate and integrate new storage solutions
- Participate in performance benchmarking, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategy development
- Support internal users by streamlining data workflows and improving access to storage resources
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, and best practices for operational consistency and knowledge sharing
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Demonstrated experience managing high-performance or clustered file systems at scale
- Deep understanding of various storage architectures and protocols, including file, block, and object storage
- Familiarity with modern scale-out platforms such as Isilon/PowerScale or Vast Data
- Strong scripting and automation skills, preferably with Python and DevOps tools
- Experience working in ticketing systems and agile environments (e.g., JIRA)
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive, collaborative mindset
- Passion for infrastructure engineering, hardware, and emerging technologies
- Ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
Salary : $250,000 - $350,000
