Summary
The Sergeant Security Officer provides first-line supervision for security operations in a high-security manufacturing environment, supporting controlled access, credentialing, and day-to-day site security. This role leads officers on shift and ensures compliance with access, safety, and post requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1 year of security supervisory or lead experience
- 3 years verified security, law enforcement, corrections, or military experience
- Experience with access control, badging, or credentialing systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a State Security License
- Valid driver’s license with clean MVR
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise officers during assigned shifts in a controlled-access industrial facility
- Enforce post orders, site security procedures, and access policies
- Support operation of access control systems, including badge activation/deactivation
- Monitor restricted areas and ensure role-based access compliance
- Respond to and document security incidents and access violations
- Conduct patrols and work posts as required
- Provide coaching, guidance, and corrective action to officers
- Communicate issues and shift activity to Lieutenants or Site Management
- Assist with emergency response, lockdowns, and access restrictions
Required Skills
- Ability to lead and direct officers on shift
- Knowledge of access-controlled manufacturing environments
- Strong decision-making and situational awareness
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 operation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for a minimum of 1 hour
- Ability to walk ½ mile and climb 20 stairs without stopping
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
