SM2 Sheet Metal Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SM2 Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our mechanical construction team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with commercial HVAC sheet metal installation and be comfortable working from blueprints and construction drawings.

The SM2 will be responsible for installing and assembling ductwork and related sheet metal components on commercial and industrial projects while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial and industrial HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications.
• Measure, lay out, fabricate, and install sheet metal components.
• Install ductwork, fittings, dampers, supports, and related HVAC components.
• Coordinate work with foremen, other trades, and project personnel.
• Inspect completed work to ensure proper fit, alignment, and quality.
• Follow all company safety procedures and jobsite requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

• CT SM2 Sheet Metal license/certification preferred.
• Previous commercial sheet metal/HVAC installation experience.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of ductwork installation and sheet metal fabrication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a crew.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to work on commercial jobsites.
• OSHA or other relevant safety training is a plus.
