5-Axis CNC Machinist – 2nd Shift
$25–$33/Hour Shift Differential | Confidential Connecticut Manufacturer
Experienced 5-Axis Machinists — this is an opportunity worth taking a look at.
A well-established Connecticut manufacturer is looking for a skilled 5-Axis CNC Machinist to join their 2nd shift team. This is a hands-on machining role for someone who knows how to set up a machine, run parts, inspect their work, troubleshoot issues, and make the adjustments needed to keep production moving.
You do not need to be a programmer for this position. Programs are provided. We are looking for someone who is strong on the floor and can take ownership of their machines.
What You'll Do
Set up and operate 5-axis CNC machines
Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
Handle tooling, workholding, offsets, and machine setups
Load and verify existing CNC programs
Make tool changes and in-process adjustments
Inspect finished and in-process parts using precision measuring equipment
Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary corrections
Maintain tight tolerances and consistent part quality
Keep machines running efficiently and meet production requirements
What We're Looking For
Solid 5-axis CNC machining experience
Strong setup and operating skills
Ability to read blueprints and understand machining requirements
Experience with tooling, offsets, workholding, and inspection
Comfortable troubleshooting and making adjustments independently
Experience working with tight-tolerance, precision components
Someone who takes pride in their work and knows how to run a machine correctly
Programming experience is not required
