We are an established Erie law firm practicing criminal defense, family law, personal injury, and civil litigation. Our front desk is the first point of contact for clients who are often navigating stressful and time-sensitive legal matters, and we're looking for a receptionist who can greet them with professionalism, warmth, and discretion.
About the Role:
As our Legal Front Desk Receptionist, you'll be the face and voice of the firm. You'll manage a busy front desk, handle incoming calls, and play a key role in bringing new clients into the firm through intake and file setup. This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable learning new software.
Responsibilities:
- Greet clients, verify appointments, and direct them appropriately to ensure a smooth check-in process.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear and courteous communication for incoming calls.
- Handle scheduling tasks such as calendar management and appointment setting using productivity software and Microsoft 365.
- Maintain accurate records through data entry, filing, and updating spreadsheets with attention to detail and proofreading accuracy
- Support office management by organizing supplies, managing correspondence, and assisting with clerical tasks such as word processing and document preparation
- Provide exceptional customer support by addressing inquiries promptly, offering information about services, and ensuring client communication is handled efficiently
What We're Looking For:
- Reliable and punctual — the front desk depends on consistent attendance.
- Excellent phone manner and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Sharp attention to detail, especially when entering client information and opening files.
- Comfortable working with online computer programs and cloud-based software.
- Able and willing to learn new skills, particularly our case management platform (Clio) — prior Clio experience is a plus but not required.
- Professional demeanor and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion.
Experience
- Prior office experience or administrative experience in a professional setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer literacy including data entry, spreadsheets, and productivity software such as Microsoft Office.
- Experience in customer service roles that require strong phone communication skills, phone etiquette, and client interaction.
- Familiarity with multi-line phone systems and office management tasks such as filing, calendar management, and document proofreading.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while managing time effectively.
Preferred (Not Required):
- Prior experience in a law office, medical office, or other professional front desk setting.
- Familiarity with Clio or similar practice management software.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 40 hours per week
