Interim COO

Search Solution Group is seeking an Interim COO on behalf of our client, a food manufacturer in the restaurant industry. This role is responsible for stabilizing operations and identifying process and inventory improvement opportunities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, highly experienced operator with deep expertise in large-scale food manufacturing or distribution environments, capable of stepping into a complex, multi-site, 24/7 operation and driving immediate impact.

• Provide executive leadership oversight of day-to-day operations across a multi-site, 24/7 manufacturing environment
• Assess and improve inventory management processes, controls, and accuracy across facilities
• Evaluate and optimize ERP system usage (Oracle Fusion preferred) and identify process gaps or inefficiencies
• Partner with VP of Operations and other senior leaders to strengthen execution and accountability across operational teams
• Support existing leadership structure without disruption while driving clarity, alignment, and performance improvements
• Identify and implement immediate operational improvements in production, warehousing, and distribution functions
• Lead or support initiatives related to process standardization, efficiency improvement, and cost optimization
• Provide insight and recommendations based on operational audit findings, particularly in inventory and systems utilization
• Work closely with family ownership and executive leadership to support strategic and operational priorities
• Ensure smooth coordination across functions including supply chain, production, logistics, and finance
• All other duties as assigned

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field

Experience:

• 10 years of progressive operations leadership experience
• Proven experience in Interim COO, VP Operations, or senior executive operations roles
• Experience leading organizations with 1,000 employees and $500M revenue strongly preferred
• Background in food manufacturing, food distribution, warehousing, or CPG required (food manufacturing preferred)
• Multi-site, 24/7 operational leadership experience required
• ERP experience required; Oracle Fusion experience strongly preferred

Skills:

• Strong operational leadership and decision-making skills
• Expertise in inventory management and operational controls
• ERP system proficiency and optimization experience
• Strong financial and operational acumen (P&L understanding)
• Ability to rapidly assess complex operational environments and implement solutions
• Strong communication and executive-level presentation skills
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority

Certifications:

Not required; operational or supply chain certifications a plus (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, PMP)

Knowledge:

• Food manufacturing and/or food distribution operations
• Large-scale, multi-site manufacturing environments
• ERP systems (Oracle Fusion preferred)
• Inventory control, supply chain, and production workflows
• Operational performance metrics and KPI management
• Regulatory and quality standards in food production
