Recruiting Leader for SSG in Charlotte, NC

Position Summary

The Director of Recruiting will be responsible for the leadership, development, performance, and execution of SSG's recruiting team. This individual will serve as the player-coach for the recruiting organization, ensuring recruiters have the tools, training, motivation, and accountability needed to consistently deliver exceptional results for clients.

This role is ideal for a highly competitive recruiting leader who has successfully built recruiting teams, developed recruiters into top performers, and created a culture of urgency, accountability, and winning.

The successful candidate must be able to teach recruiting strategy, coach execution, mentor developing recruiters, motivate teams through challenges, and drive measurable performance improvements across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and motivate a team of recruiters and recruiting managers.
  • Build a high-performance recruiting culture focused on accountability, urgency, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions focused on recruiter development and performance improvement.
  • Create individualized development plans for recruiters at all levels.
  • Develop future recruiting leaders within the organization.
  • Foster a culture where recruiters continuously improve their sourcing, recruiting, and closing skills.

Recruiting Excellence

  • Train recruiters on advanced sourcing techniques, market mapping, candidate engagement, interviewing, and offer negotiation.
  • Ensure consistent recruiting processes and best practices across all searches.
  • Improve recruiter productivity, candidate quality, and placement success rates.
  • Monitor search activity and provide strategic guidance on difficult or high-priority assignments.
  • Assist recruiters with executive-level candidate attraction and closing strategies.

Performance Management

  • Establish and track recruiting KPIs and scorecards.
  • Hold recruiters accountable for activity, execution, candidate generation, and placement outcomes.
  • Analyze recruiting metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Address performance gaps quickly and effectively.
  • Drive a results-oriented environment where expectations are clear and measurable.

Training & Onboarding

  • Design and deliver recruiting training programs for new and existing recruiters.
  • Create playbooks, recruiting processes, sourcing strategies, and best practices.
  • Lead weekly recruiting development sessions and team workshops.
  • Ensure all recruiters understand SSG standards, expectations, and methodologies.

Strategic Recruiting Operations

  • Partner with leadership to improve recruiting workflows, technology adoption, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to ensure alignment between client needs and recruiting execution.
  • Evaluate recruiter workloads and ensure proper search coverage.
  • Assist in workforce planning and recruiting team growth initiatives.
