Responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of not-for-profit organizations.
• Plan and execute audit engagements, including risk assessments and audit fieldwork.
• Prepare and review GAAP financial statements and related disclosures.
• Evaluate internal controls and identify opportunities to strengthen financial reporting processes.
• Audit investment portfolios, endowment funds, and donor-restricted assets.
• Review grant compliance and functional expense allocations.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients and firm leadership.
• Mentor and guide junior team members throughout audit engagements.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service.

Qualifications

• 5 years of public accounting audit experience.
• Experience auditing 501(c)(3) and other not-for-profit organizations.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Risk assessment and audit planning
• GAAP financial statement preparation and reporting
• Internal controls
• Investment and endowment fund auditing
• Not-for-profit accounting (ASC 958)
• Financial statement preparation and disclosures
• CPA license or progress toward certification is preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
