Responsibilities
- Lead audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of not-for-profit organizations.
- Plan and execute audit engagements, including risk assessments and audit fieldwork.
- Prepare and review GAAP financial statements and related disclosures.
- Evaluate internal controls and identify opportunities to strengthen financial reporting processes.
- Audit investment portfolios, endowment funds, and donor-restricted assets.
- Review grant compliance and functional expense allocations.
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients and firm leadership.
- Mentor and guide junior team members throughout audit engagements.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service.
Qualifications
- 5 years of public accounting audit experience.
- Experience auditing 501(c)(3) and other not-for-profit organizations.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Risk assessment and audit planning
- GAAP financial statement preparation and reporting
- Internal controls
- Investment and endowment fund auditing
- Not-for-profit accounting (ASC 958)
- Financial statement preparation and disclosures
- CPA license or progress toward certification is preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
