Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team!  

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting support to the Assistant Controller. This person will record daily and monthly transactional activity while adhering to US GAAP and Heico Group accounting policies that includes record preparation, research, and reporting related to, but not limited to, general ledger activities, month-end closing activities, reconciliation of accounts as directed, financial-related reports, schedules, and audits.

THIS JOB IS ON-SITE at our Hauppauge, NY Office

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Lead all aspects of monthly accounting close processes for our two small entities (foreign representation offices), which includes, but not limited to:

         Prepare monthly journal entries for these small entities

·         Perform monthly bank reconciliations for the small entity’s bank accounts

·         Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account reconciliations for these entities’ accounts, including accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets, to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger reliability.

·         Lead audit requests related to these entities

·         Lead fixed asset process (ensure capital expenditure requests have appropriate levels of approvals, record fixed asset transactions [additions, disposals, depreciation, etc.] within fixed asset system as well as general ledger)

·         Assist Assistant Controller with US accounting close

·         Assist Assistant Controller with US audit requests

·         Work with AR, AP, and other departments as needed to resolve issues

Position Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting

·         US GAAP knowledge

·         Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including but not limited to Vlookups and Pivot tables

·         5 years of general ledger accounting experience

·         ERP system knowledge is required, ideally Infor Syteline

·         Advanced communication abilities

·         Confident working independently and using initiative to guide through challenges
