SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the organization’s financial records and reporting. This position supports month-end close, regulatory reporting, budgeting, and audit activities, while partnering with management to provide meaningful financial insights and process improvements. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a financial institution environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and reconcile Balance Sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset and Prepaids subledgers along with their respective depreciation and amortization.
- Assist in preparation of Call Report data.
- Assist with month end close, journal entries and variance analysis.
- Assist with Accounts Payable and Receivables
- Analyze and resolve account discrepancies or misclassifications.
- Analyze financial data and prepare monthly financial reports i.e., Pledged collateral reports, Goals reports, Liquidity Reports
- Assist with automating recurring financial and operational reports by reducing manual processes and improving data reliability.
- Coordinate and assist with audit preparation.
- Assist with annual budget preparation and make recommendations for changes.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Must possess strong technical and motivational skills along with excellent communication skills.
- 5-8 years working in a financial institution preferably in a Credit Union setting.

COMPENTENCIES:
- Excellent Accounting skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and use of analytical related formulas.
- Ability to prioritize, pay close attention to detail, and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers, management, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete an accounting and/or competency assessment as part of the interview process.

Salary : $72,800 - $83,000
