Assistant Camp Director
Position Description: Assistant Camp Director
Reports to: Camp Director
Locations: John E. Reeves Cub World (Alpine, NJ), Ten Mile River Scout Camps (Narrowsburg, NY)
Description: Under the guidance of the Camp Director, the Assistant Camp Director functions as the secondary leader of their assigned camp. The camp director must be a responsible and capable person, at least 21 years old. The person must have experience as an adult camp staff member. The camp director must have a current (within five years) certificate of training from a BSA Management National Camping School or willingness to obtain certification before the opening of camp.
Responsibilities: The Assistant Camp Director is responsible for any responsibilities delegated from their Camp Director and ensuring that BSA national standards are met. The Assistant Camp Director may act in a direct leadership role in the absence of the Camp Director.
Specific Duties: The camp director’s specific duties include the following;
- Fulfill all duties as assigned by the Camp Director within a timely manner
- In the absence of a Camp Director, act as the primarily leader of their assigned camp
- Enforce all BSA, local council and camp policies, rules and regulations
- Meet BSA national standards within every applicable area of responsibility
- Work with rangers, fellow directors and other key staff members to ensure objectives are met
- All other duties as assigned
