Calibration & Measurement Control
- Perform in-house calibration of measuring and test equipment in accordance with approved procedures, manufacturer recommendations, and applicable standards.
- Coordinate and manage external calibrations through ISO/IEC 17025–accredited laboratories or other approved certified labs.
- Ensure all measuring equipment is properly identified, labeled, and controlled (calibration status, due dates, and traceability).
- Maintain and manage the calibration recall system to ensure timely calibration of all equipment.
- Maintain accurate and complete calibration records, certificates, and reports for both internal and external calibrations.
- Review external laboratory calibration certificates for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with requirements (traceability to NIST or equivalent).
- Document and report out-of-tolerance (OOT) conditions and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
- Support audits by providing calibration documentation and demonstrating compliance with quality system requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, API, or customer-specific requirements.
- Assist with development, maintenance, and improvement of calibration procedures and work instructions.
- Support internal, customer, and third-party audits related to calibration and measurement control.
- Evaluate measurement equipment for suitability, accuracy, and proper use within the machine shop environment.
- Provide guidance and training to shop personnel on proper handling and care of calibrated equipment.
- Recommend improvements to calibration methods, equipment, or processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in metrology, engineering technology, or related field preferred).
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in calibration, metrology, or quality control in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Working knowledge of dimensional measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, gage blocks, torque tools, etc.).
- Experience managing calibrations through external certified laboratories.
- Strong understanding of measurement traceability and calibration standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and calibration management software (GAGEtrak) or databases.
