About The Role
The MAII has primary responsibility for effectively performing all accounting tasks relating to the business unit(s) assigned in an efficient manner following all company and market group policies and procedures. The MAII maintains positive customer and trucker/vendor relations and proactively monitors and reports cash flow and credit risk. The MA II exhibits excellent teamwork with other business units and personnel and assists in training new merchandisers and merchandiser assistants (MAs). The MA II reviews business reports for his/her assigned business units and serves as a primary resource for merchandiser and MA questions. The MAII strives for continuous improvement and embraces new technology and changes to processes and procedures.
This position is directly accountable to the Facility Manager or Merchandiser for daily business functions and to the Controller in respect to approved control procedures. This role is required to report any perceived control policy or procedure concerns to the Controller.

- Responsible for effectively performing assigned accounting tasks relating to the trade unit(s) in an efficient manner including but not limited to: Process freight payments/ticket upload or creation daily. Process final settlements in a timely manner. Process daily cash receipts and follow up on outstanding receivables and unapplied cash.
- Assist merchandisers in any freight/logistical issues.
- Assist merchandiser and customers with accounting questions.
- Maintains positive customer and trucker/vendor relations and proactively monitors and reports cash flow and credit risk. Collaborates with both internal and external customers to proactively identify and solve problems.
- Monthly reconciliation of inventories. Maintains an organized digital filing system meeting our record retention policy which includes invoices, contracts, reports and payment receipts.
- Collaborates with Assistant Controller to ensure procedures/policies are followed. Required to report all perceived control policy and procedure concerns to the Assistant Controller.
- Assist in training new Merchandiser Assistants and other various roles. Assists with elevator, truck, and rail transportation and logistics from origin to destination with a cost-effective, efficient logistic action plan. Assist with testing in I.T projects as needed.
- Review reports including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Freight Analysis and other miscellaneous reports on a daily/weekly basis and identify actionable items and resolve. Develop a basic understanding of our business to identify potential issues or opportunities and provide useful feedback to the Merchandisers.

- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and completely.
- Customer service skills and positive, persuasive, and credible attitude.
- High level of problem solving and critical thinking skills for problem resolution.
- Extremely detail-oriented.
- Research and solve problems.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of people.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong mathematical and analytical ability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite preferred, along with desire to learn new programs.
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in Agri-business.
