About The Role
The Merchandiser Assistant I (MA I) has primary responsibility to perform administrative accounting functions and insure adherence to proper control procedures of the business unit. The MA I must enter all pertinent information in their business unit’s expert system on a daily basis. The Merchandiser Assistant I contributes to positive customer and vendor relations. The MA I is required to report all perceived control policy or procedure concerns to the Controller.

The MA I must enter all pertinent information in their business unit’s expert system on a daily basis. The Merchandiser Assistant I contributes to positive customer and vendor relations. The MA I is required to report all perceived control policy or procedure concerns to the Controller.
- Partner with Trade Execution Team and Sales Managers to provide timely and accurate records for product and freight positions. Deliver excellent service to our customers/vendors, including timely processing of payments and resolution of any problems.
- Responsible for the accurate reporting and reconciliation of inventory. Work with operations, Accounting/Control, and contract labor to gather necessary load transaction information.
- Actively monitor Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Freight Analysis and other miscellaneous reports on a daily/weekly basis and resolve any issues. Maintain an organized digital filing system which includes invoices, contracts, report and payment receipts
- Communicate business position and miscellaneous adjustments to the merchandiser and collaborate at month-end to submit the final profit and loss statement.
Minimum
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to handle confidential materials
- Basic understanding of general accounting principles
- Strong math skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to accurately and completely conduct repetitive tasks
- Knowledge of commodities business
- Two years of office experience
