Scooter's Coffee Barista

Start your day energized by people, coffee, and the rhythm of a fast-paced drive-thru. This role is built for someone who thrives in the early hours and keeps that energy steady through the busy mid-afternoon rush. As a barista at the Northwest Sioux Falls location, you are the first smile many customers see before work and the friendly face that brightens their afternoon pick-me-up.

Your mornings and mid-afternoons will be spent crafting high-quality beverages and delivering the kind of fast, warm service that keeps customers coming back day after day. You will balance speed with precision, making sure every drink meets quality standards while the line keeps moving.

• Prepare espresso drinks, blended beverages, brewed coffee, and specialty items to recipe and presentation standards.
• Greet every customer with genuine warmth and take orders accurately at the register and drive-thru window.
• Operate point-of-sale systems and handle cash and card transactions with care and accuracy.
• Keep the workspace clean, stocked, and organized, including machines, counters, and customer-facing areas.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines throughout every shift.
• Restock supplies, rotate inventory, and communicate low-stock needs to the team.
• Work efficiently during peak periods to minimize wait times without sacrificing quality.
• Support teammates by sharing tasks and stepping in where help is needed.

We want someone reliable, upbeat, and ready to commit to a consistent morning and mid-afternoon schedule. You do not need years of experience to succeed here, but you do need a strong work ethic and a real desire to serve people well.

• Dependable attendance and punctuality, especially for early opening shifts.
• Friendly, positive attitude and a customer-first mindset.
• Ability to stay focused and composed during high-volume periods.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
• Comfort standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to learn drink recipes, equipment operation, and service procedures quickly.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
• Previous food service, retail, or barista experience is a plus but not required.

If you take pride in doing small things well, enjoy building quick connections with regulars, and want to be part of a team that moves with purpose, this is a great fit. Each shift offers the chance to sharpen your craft, work alongside motivated teammates, and make someone's day a little better over a great cup of coffee.
