NOW HIRING: PROGRAM BUYER

Tier 1 Automotive | New Program Launch | Global Purchasing

We’re partnering with a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier in Farmington Hills, MI to identify an experienced Program Buyer to join a growing Global Advanced Purchasing organization.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a purchasing professional who enjoys working cross-functionally, managing program launches, driving sourcing activities, and ensuring suppliers deliver against cost, quality, and timing expectations.

🔧 What You’ll Do

• Manage purchasing deliverables from program pursuit through SOP 90 days

• Lead sourcing activities for new automotive program launches

• Issue and analyze RFQs and benchmark quotes against Should Cost Models

• Negotiate pricing and develop sourcing recommendations

• Coordinate supplier feasibility, tooling, schedules, and initial samples through PPAP

• Lead cross-functional meetings with Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Sales, Program Management, and suppliers

• Maintain BOM, Cost Book, sourcing, tooling, timing, volume, and program-risk tracking

• Represent Purchasing in PDTs, Program Reviews, Gate Reviews, and launch meetings

• Support NCSR/design-change activities and validate supplier quotations

• Identify and support onboarding of new suppliers

• Collaborate with global purchasing teams and continuously improve purchasing processes

🎯 What We’re Looking For

✅ 3–5 years of purchasing/program experience

✅ Automotive OEM or Tier 1 experience preferred

✅ Experience managing purchasing/program deliverables

✅ Strong project management and multitasking skills

✅ Excellent communication and negotiation abilities

✅ Strong analytical and technical skills

✅ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint

✅ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field

✅ Willingness to travel approximately 5%
