What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Indirect Procurement position at SCN - Search Consulting Network?
Are you a global procurement leader who enjoys building, transforming, and improving procurement organizations? This is an opportunity to lead a significant global indirect procurement transformation for an established international manufacturing company.
This high-impact leadership role will shape how indirect procurement operates globally, strengthening category management, sourcing discipline, governance, spend visibility, and measurable savings.
The Opportunity
• Lead a global indirect procurement transformation spanning approximately $160M in spend across IT, Facilities, Professional Services, HR, Travel, and other indirect categories.
• Establish and strengthen global procurement policies, sourcing processes, approval workflows, compliance, and governance.
• Increase spend under procurement management and improve spend analytics, savings pipelines, forecasting, and KPI reporting.
• Drive strategic category management, supplier performance, and continuous process improvement.
• Partner with senior leaders across Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Operations, Engineering, and other functions to influence change across a global organization.
• Support sustainability initiatives, including supplier engagement and Scope 3 considerations.
What We’re Looking For
• 10 years of procurement experience, including substantial indirect procurement leadership in a complex, global manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated success transforming or building procurement processes, governance, and operating practices—not simply managing an established program.
• Experience leading global, cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority.
• Strong capabilities in strategic sourcing, negotiations, spend analytics, savings accountability, and performance measurement.
• A balance of strategic leadership and hands-on execution, with a track record of delivering measurable business results.
• A collaborative, pragmatic leadership style that builds credibility and drives change.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field.

This is an opportunity to make a visible impact on a global procurement organization, influence how the business operates, and build a stronger, more disciplined indirect procurement function with meaningful responsibility and measurable outcomes.
