Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Apparel Design Associate for a growing children's apparel brand. This is a full-time onsite opportunity based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, supporting a collaborative design team creating seasonal collections for the baby and children's apparel market.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Apparel Design Associate will partner closely with the Lead Designer to support the development and execution of seasonal children's apparel and accessory collections. This role blends creative design support, technical apparel development, product coordination, and project management to bring products from concept through production. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about children's fashion, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support seasonal collection development through trend research, sales analysis, and product planning in partnership with the Lead Designer
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including garment specifications, technical drawings, bill of materials, sizing, fabrications, trims, and color information
- Manage sample development, track revisions, maintain development records, and coordinate with domestic and overseas vendors throughout the development process
- Conduct fittings, document adjustments, and ensure all samples meet design, quality, and fit expectations prior to approval
- Prepare accurate production orders and partner with factories to ensure timely and successful production execution
- Support sales and merchandising efforts through linesheets, sales materials, sample management, and maintenance of historical collection records
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting apparel design, product development, technical design, or a related field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (including Illustrator), CAD programs, and advanced Excel spreadsheet management
- Ability to create technical apparel sketches, illustrations, and production documentation
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This position offers an hourly rate of $31.00-$33.50, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to play a key role in bringing thoughtfully designed children's apparel collections to market.
