Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Support Attorney (Remote) for our inspiring nonprofit partner, providing free civil legal services to low-income and vulnerable residents across Florida. This full-time, remote position is based in Florida and supports individuals in need of immediate legal guidance and resource navigation. Candidates must be barred in FL.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Support Attorney plays a critical role in expanding access to justice through the organization's client services, serving as the first point of contact for individuals seeking civil legal support. This role provides direct, brief legal services, referrals, and holistic counseling that considers broader life circumstances such as housing, finances, and family stability. The attorney offers compassionate legal triage while empowering clients to understand their rights and possible next steps.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide legal counsel, brief services, and referrals via the Help Line in eligible areas of civil law
- Conduct holistic client screenings to assess legal needs and eligibility
- Document all interactions and legal advice accurately and in compliance with program protocols
- Work with internal teams to direct clients to legal clinics or representation when appropriate
- Support community outreach and client education efforts as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- JD degree and active license to practice law in Florida
- Commitment to public interest law and serving marginalized communities
- Clear, compassionate communication skills to assist clients navigating legal stressors
- Familiarity with civil legal topics such as housing, family law, consumer rights, and public benefits
- Proficiency with virtual platforms and legal services technology
