Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Referral & Intake Coordinator for a healthcare-related organization. This position is remote within the West Coast time zone, with San Francisco onsite strongly preferred.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role processes incoming referrals, medical documentation, and related intake requests to ensure accurate and timely handling within a fast-paced, technology-driven workflow. The Referral & Intake Coordinator plays a key part in supporting clinical operations by reviewing, validating, and entering essential medical information. This position calls for strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a rapidly evolving startup environment.
PERKS:
This position offers $35–$45 per hour, depending on experience, performance, and geographic location. Medical equipment is provided (onsite equipment for office workers and laptops for remote workers). Additional benefits may be offered upon conversion to permanent employment.

- Process incoming referrals, orders, and medical documentation with accuracy and efficiency.
- Review, interpret, and validate medical documents such as progress notes, orders, and related forms.
- Enter and manage referral data using medical billing and digital workflow systems.
- Communicate professionally with internal team members to ensure smooth coordination.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy with all patient-related documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to support improvements in workflows and operations.
- Background in healthcare, medical records, insurance, pharmacy tech, or a related environment.
- Ability to interpret clinical documentation and basic medical terminology.
- Comfortable using digital tools and learning new software systems.
- Strong attention to detail with high-volume data accuracy.
- Able to operate confidently in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.
