Medical Receptionist

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Medical Receptionist for a healthcare client. This is a full-time, onsite position located in Rochester, NY, offering a warm, patient-focused environment and the opportunity to support a busy behavioral health practice.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role serves as the face of the clinic, ensuring a welcoming, professional, and efficient front desk experience for all patients. The Medical Receptionist will oversee check-in/out workflows, appointment scheduling, records management, and ongoing communication with both patients and providers. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience.
• Manage patient check-in and check-out, including accurate appointment scheduling and billing support.
• Answer incoming calls, addressing inquiries or routing them to appropriate staff.
• Maintain patient records and uphold confidentiality standards while managing EHR documentation.
• Utilize EHR systems such as JaneApp to update, process, and manage patient information.
• Support insurance verification, co-pay collection, and general administrative tasks to keep the office running smoothly.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in medical reception, patient services, or office administration in a healthcare setting.
• Strong communication skills, warm patient interaction style, and polished phone etiquette.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency with EHR systems; experience with JaneApp or similar platforms preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and ICD-10 coding is a plus.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This position offers $19- $20 per hour (non-exempt), dependent on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, PTO, paid sick time, 401k eligibility, tuition reimbursement stipend, and free parking.
